Portmeirion Wedding Photographer | Lindsey + Jon

Portmeirion wedding photographer Mathew Quake always enjoys capturing weddings at this unique, beautiful wedding venue on the coast of North Wales. It was a pleasure to capture Lindsey and Jon’s wedding in July, at Portmeirion, my favourite wedding venue. Although we had spoken on the phone we didn’t meet in person until the day before the wedding, when we had a chat about the order of the day in more detail. Whilst chatting we discovered that both Jon’s grandmother and my own were very good friends at one time, which was a lovely connection to have to the groom. They seemed very relaxed about the day and I appreciated their faith in me to capture lovely photographs of them during the day and at the best spots in Portmeirion Village. The wedding itself was conducted at St Johns church in Porthmadog, where an intimate service was held, followed with the wedding reception at Castell Deudraeth, part of the Portmeirion estate. On arrival at the castle, Lindsey, Jon and I went into the village for some softly directed photographs of them both at some of the best spots, finishing at the lovely Chinese inspired garden in the woodland, before heading back to join guests for a champagne reception. The whole day felt very relaxed, with the weather on our side and guests enjoying the beautiful surroundings, food and wine. I noticed that Lindsey and Jon held each other’s hand and shared a kiss often through the day, it was easy to see how close a bond they share and I couldn’t be happier for them. Very best wishes to the two of you for the future, please enjoy a sneak peek at your wedding day.
