Nonsuch Mansion Engagement Shoot | Nonsuch Mansion Wedding Photographer

A Nonsuch Mansion Engagement Shoot by Nonsuch Mansion Wedding Photographer Mathew Quake. I spent a couple of hours at Nonsuch Mansion with Saif and Becks. After sampling the rather divine sausage sandwiches at Nonsuch cafe and a chat about their wedding day we had a walk through the grounds taking pictures. Engagement shoots are a great opportunity for couples to get comfortable with the camera and more familiar with my approach on the day before the big day. Here are a few sample images from our time at Nonsuch Mansion.

Dartmouth House Wedding Photography | London Wedding Photographer

Dartmouth House Wedding Photography by London Wedding Photographer Mat Quake. Dartmouth House is a truly unique and beautiful wedding venue set in the heart of Mayfair. The splendid interconnecting rooms, courtyard and staircase provide the most elegant of settings for your wedding and for photography. I often have a walk with the bride and groom down Charles St, with it’s Edwardian Town Houses and red pillar boxes, perfect for some candid urban shots. Berkeley Square is also a good spot and is just a stone’s throw away. If you would like to see more Dartmouth House Wedding Photography then please view Rob and Eugina’s wedding here.

Here are some documentary wedding photographs from Melis and Jason’s wedding. This was, surprisingly, the first Sunday wedding I have done in over 18 months. I love coming back to this venue, with its elegant decor providing lovely space to work with photography wise. As the photographs demonstrate, we not only made use of the backdrops indoors but we also went into the street . Here there are one or two backdrops that I keep going back to, which help tell the story of where they are, with beautiful Edwardian town houses providing a perfect London themed setting. Quite a few of these photographs demonstrated my ability to be creative with natural light. There are some lovely examples of natural moments caught too.

South Lodge Hotel Wedding Photography

South Lodge Hotel Wedding Photography from London and Surrey Wedding Photographer Mat Quake. Here is a little sneak peek from Alex and Hannah’s wedding at the lovely South Lodge Hotel. It’s been rain, rain, rain for what seem like an age but I’ve been lucky on wedding days. Again, a break in the wet weather which allowed us to go down to the nearby woodland gardens for some lovely, softly directed photographs of the two of them. Here are a handful of shots I was keen to share. Lots more highlights from this wedding if you’re keen to see some more.

Dzen and Chris are one of the nicest couples I have had the pleasure of working with. When we met in Teddington it was instantly clear that family values and children were really central to their lives. Although Dzen suspected that I might be put off by the fact that their day would be full of children it actually made me more enthusiastic about shooting their day. I had a strong sense it would give the whole wedding a very different feel and I was looking forward to being encouraged to take lots of photogrpahs of children playing and having fun. From their eldest daughter Jasmine joining them during the ceremony, to children running around in the woodland, to folk dancing, to games of Chess and Jenga on the lawn, to their youngest son Robert being spoon fed by mum whilst dad spoke of his affection for them, it was lovely to be part of such a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. I have reflected many of these aspects mentioned in their wedding highlights.

Portmeirion Wedding Photography | London Wedding Photographer

Portmeirion Wedding Photography from London Wedding Photographer Mathew Quake. I was looking forward to this wedding, not only because Portmeirion Village is such a unique setting for a wedding occasion, but also because three and a half years ago I married my wife Fi here. Both Myank and Lindsay had already been married in India prior to our first meeting on the Southbank in London, some three hundred miles from Portmeirion by car. Their second wedding ceremony was to legally marry them in the UK and an opportunity to celebrate with friends and family who didn’t make the long journey to India. Although I had only done one previous wedding at Portmeirion, having grown up just a mile away in Porthmadog, I knew Portmeirion village like the back of my hand. I was also more than familiar with the local climate and, not so uncommon, lots of rain was due to fall. Although the wet weather meant formal family photographs had to be done indoors we held out for the bride and groom photographs until later in the day. I was quietly confident that the sun would pop out, my trustworthy IPhone app had said dry weather at 16.00 and it’s never let me down. We did indeed manage to get out and about early evening for a 30 minute walk around the village, taking pictures in some of Portmeirion’s most beautiful backdrops. Some guests braved the, now exposed, sandy beach but it was a bit too soggy for heels. I have done some audio recording of the vows and speeches so there is a short photo documentary to come, meanwhile, please enjoy their wedding photography highlights.
