The Petersham Wedding Photographer | Myra + Carl

It was a pleasure to photograph Myra and Carl’s wedding at The Petersham. Myra is from Spain and they had celerbrated in her home town prior to planning a wedding here in the UK. It was a lovely experience to talk through the photogrpahy they had received in Spain. They had a very clear idea of what they wanted and what they were not so keen on image wise. We struck an instant rapour over coffee at the hotel reception and had a good walk aroudn the grounds so I could show them some of the nicest backdrops for photos. The weather was lovely on the day and so we ventured up to Richmond terrace for some photos. This was one of the first weddings at the Petersham I had done where the wedding breakfast was in the main restaurant, a requirement to cater for the larger than usual wedding party size. It’s a nice, spacious room for a wedding breakfast. Myra and Carl were really easy to work with and the day was filled with emotion, which comes across beautifully in the imagery captured. Warmest wishes to them both for the future.

The Petersham Wedding Photographer | Heather + Arjun

Richmond Wedding Photographer Mathew Quake

The Petersham is one of my favourite Richmond wedding venues. It caters for smaller wedding parties which always has a really lovely, personal and intimate atmosphere. There are some lovely spots in the hotel and around the grounds, with easy access to the riverside if time permits or the terrace on Richmond Hill if you fancy a quick, but rather steep walk to the top, which Heather and Arjun were happy to do as they wanted photos from a few spots that meant somethign to them. It was a pleasure capturing Heather and Arjun’s wedding, a lovely couple who made me feel very welcome. Here are a few highlights from the day, starting at their home in Kew with the service in the hotel terrace room, the wedding breakfast in the long room and evening speeches, drinks and dancing in the cellar.

Mandarin Oriental Wedding Photographer | Yvonne + Brian

It was a real pleasure to be part of Yvonne and Brian’s wedding at this beautiful venue in Knightsbridge. I was really pleased they booked me, not only because I felt we got on really well but I was looking forward to capturing all the little traditional Chinese elements of the day. The day started with Yvonne getting ready at The Bentley, followed by a quick trip to meet Brian at their flat for some getting ready shots of the groom before capturing the tea ceremonies for Yvonne’s and Brian’s parents, which was a joy to document.  After some family photographs I joined Yvonne and the bridesmaids on their journey to the Mandarin, where I captured her getting ready for the ceremony. The service was very heartfelt with lots of emotion captured (which is what I love the most about documenting weddings). After the ceremony we had a little break in the rainy weather and therefore managed to get out to the garden for some softly posed photographs. The reception and wedding breakfast was very relaxed and there were lots of opportunities to capture lots of natural shots of guests enjoying the day. I also managed to get some great shots of the speeches, one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s fascinating how quickly you get to know people through the kind words and paragraphs of a wedding speech and it’s great to be able to capture the reactions to those words. I wish Yvonne and Brian all the very best for the future, thank you for allowing me to be part of your day.

Amersham Wedding Photographer | Kerry + Sean

I had got to know Sean and Kerry through an old corporate client of mine, where they worked and met, and so I was really pleased when they asked me to capture the day. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride for them, having to cancel their original plans and delay their wedding due to Covid, but the result was a really lovely, intimate wedding in the beautiful town of Amersham. It was the second wedding I have photographed during Covid times. Adopting a little extra care and attention, wearing a mask whilst in and amongst guests, it’s a wedding day just like any other. It was a pleasure to capture your day Sean and Kerry, you’re so well suited to each other and I wish you the very best for the future. Here are a selection of images to enjoy and share before you receive all your images. Enjoy!

Hampton Court House Wedding Photography | Cynthia + Adrian

I was delighted to get my first booking at Hampton Court House, it’s such a lovely venue and to share it with Cynthia and Adrian was an absolute pleasure as they are such a lovely couple and a joy to work with. After our initial meeting I had a good look around the venue to familiarise myself with all the best locations for photography come rain or shine. The wedding day started with capturing some subtle getting ready shots, flipping between the bride in the old library and the groom in a a classroom at the other side the house. The ceremony was beautiful, it’s such a nice room to get married in, with Bushy Park in full view in front of you as you say your vows. The weather held perfectly for some candid and softly directed photographs of them both in and around the house. We also went to the little shell grotto. Despite being a little reserved about how the shots might turn out in there, having some off camera flash and shooting them form one side of the room worked really well. The reminder of the day was spent capturing lots of natural shots during the drinks reception and wedding breakfast, then the first dance before I departed. Here is a small selection from their image library, hope you like my blend of natural and creative photographs.
